Every year Down Syndrome Victoria brings their expertise and knowledge to families in regional Victoria

Each year Down Syndrome Victoria aims to visit our regional and remote families to offer either a general catch-up, training or camp. Regions are generally chosen either from interest/requests from families, our database population or by length of time since last visit.

Our visits are flexible and can be arranged to suit the local families but, in general, usually follow a popular 2 day format i.e.:

MONDAY

DSV staff arrive and check into accommodation
DSV meet with local organisations i.e. maternity hospital and provide training to staff
DSV staff meet with local families at a family friendly venue (usually a pub with a children’s playground)

TUESDAY

DSV staff run daytime information workshops for families (usually 3-4 different topics targeted at a variety of age groups)

The format and agenda will vary depending on funding constraints, family needs and staff availability.

If you have interest from your local area and think you may have a group of families interested in hosting a DSVC2U, we would love to hear form you.  Email Sue at training@dsav.asn.au

Our next DSVC2U will be in Ballarat on 27th and 28th April
