Support Coordinator
and NDIS Administration Assistant

This is an opportunity to join a passionate not-for-profit service at the start of their transition to NDIS service delivery. You will be a part of a supportive team committed to empowering people with Down syndrome, their families and carers to achieve equality. This role is twofold with priorities flexible to meet service demands. Working with the NDIS Coordinator you will be involved in the development of new support services and the transition of current services to a NDIS service delivery model. You will also work directly with NDIS participants and their families and carers as a part of a team delivering the NDIS registered service; Support Coordination. Our Support Coordinators are offered training on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and delivering Support Coordination. 

To succeed as a DSV Support Coordinator,  you will need a friendly and professional manner, excellent planning and time management skills, a commitment to capacity building in all areas, an understanding of the purpose of the NDIS and the essential role Support Coordination plays in empowering people to enact real choice and control in their lives.

Administration Officer

We are looking for a competent Administration Officer to look after the day to day office administration and will work closely across the entire organisation to provide a high level of administrative support. Externally, the role will require liaison and communications with external suppliers and stakeholders including DSV members.  
Based at our office in Abbotsford the Administration Officer is responsible for providing a variety of administrative tasks and will join a small committed team. 
Skills you will need:

Proven work experience as an Administrative Officer, Administrator or similar role
Solid knowledge of office procedures and protocols
Experience with office management software, CRM Database, Mail Chimp & Survey Monkey
Multi-tasking ability and comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and proactive with a sense of urgency.
Demonstrated commitment to developing skills and enhancing personal development.
Strong organization skills with a problem-solving attitude
Certificate III in Business Administration an advantage but not essential.

Family Support Worker

Down Syndrome Victoria located is looking for someone to look after our Family Support Services.  Family support strengthens and nurtures families, building on family members’ existing strengths and skills. It encourages positive relationships within families to value, nurture and protect children, providing them with the optimum environments to learn and grow. You will need to be a social worker or have had significant work experience in a related field.  Support is currently concentrated in high stress transition stages – diagnosis, school entry, transition between schools, leaving school - transition to employment, independent living and ageing issues. Support is also provided to prospective parents seeking assistance with prenatal issues.  The overall goal of the position is to empower families to help themselves and their family member with Down syndrome, not to provide intensive case management. 

Joining a committed team the family support worker will work with the Adult Support Worker and the Education Team to provide information and support to families when needed.
